2010 AAA Inter-League Rules for Oak Grove, Oakridge, and Spartan Little Leagues
|
1. The teams will play using the 2-4-2 Method of getting all players involved. The system will be as follows: - Each team will set a batting order using all players at the game. - You will bat through the complete line-up. - Nine players will play the field. - At the end of the second inning, all of the players who set on the bench for the first two innings will go into the field for the rest of the game. - At the end of the fourth inning the players who were removed from the field at the end of the second inning will go back into the game for any of the players who played the first four innings. In the above manner each player will play a minimum of four innings. 2. 5 RUN RULE – An inning will be based on 3 outs or 5 runs, which ever comes first in accordance with the little league rulebook. This rule is in effect for the first 5 innings. The 6th inning of the game will have open scoring until 3 outs are reached 3. TEN RUN RULE – If at the end of 3 ½ innings (4 innings if the visitor is ahead) there is a 10 run difference in the score, the losing manager MUST concede the game. Spartan, Oak Grove and Oak Ridge Board of Directors hope this situation will not arise often. Each manager should play each game so as to not run up the score. When the game starts getting out of hand, all managers manager should substitute his younger players into the game. 4. PITCHING –12 year olds are not eligible to pitch in AAA. A player once removed as a pitcher may not pitch again in the same game. Pitch Count Rules to be provided by Leagues to Managers and Coaches. 5. PITCHING AFFIDAVIT – The Manager of each team will be responsible for maintaining a “Pitching Affidavit”. This document will be completed by the official scorer and signed by the scorer after each game. In the event a Manager fails to bring the affidavit to a game, the opposing manager will inform the umpire and official scorer that the game is being played under protest. The manager of the team without the affidavit will then have 48 hours to prove he did not use an ineligible pitcher. If it is found an ineligible pitcher was used, the game will be forfeited. 6. All teams are required to show up at their scheduled fields despite bad weather. NO MANAGER OR COACH HAS THE AUTHORITY TO CANCEL A GAME. The chief umpire assigned to the game will determine if the game can be played or postponed. 7. Games postponed due to weather, insufficient players, etc. will be played on the next first available date, except Sundays, following the postponed game. In the event that a team is unable to field at least the minimum 9 players for the rescheduled game, that team will automatically forfeit that game. 8. There will be 2.5 hour time limit on all games & NO inning will start after 2.5 hours. The umpire will have the authority to call games for time & darkness 9. Game time starts on Saturdays will be at 9:00 am, 12:00 pm & 3:00pm Weekday starts will be at 5:30 pm.
10. Home team will supply umpires and each team will supply 2 game balls. Each team will be responsible for the clean-up of the dugout they use.
11. Field Set Up/Breakdown – our Inter-league schedule may addresses the uneven number of teams from each League. As a result, there may be home games at away fields. If this occurs, the Hosting Team will be responsible for field set up & breakdown.
12. Good Sportsmanship – no trash talk should be tolerated before, during or after games. At the end of each game, the teams should meet at home plate and congratulate each other. Good sportsmanship should be conducted at all times by players, managers, coaches, parents and fans. Managers and coaches are responsible for their own players. Parents and fans are responsible for themselves. If a parent or fan causes trouble, the other parents or fans should stop this from continuing. If this doesn’t stop, a designated volunteer or board member can ask and or escort the individual/individuals off the field area. If this is not enough the police can be called. In some cases umpire in chief can halt the game until the offender/offenders have left.
